I cannot live without these balls. Honestly. I’m the type of person who has to eat every four hours, otherwise I feel sick and dizzy.
It is easy to rely on chocolate bars and sugary drinks, coffee and tea to keep you going. But it won’t light you up and for sure it won’t make you feel nourished and loved. Surviving on processed sugars and stimulants will actually promote stress, anxiety and depression, weight gain and mood swings. The last think a balanced mamma needs.
This is why, I make these little green monsters regularly. Simple and quick, full of greens and superfoods. Covers more than my five a day. Hope you get to make it too.
High protein, superfood energy balls for mums on the go. Nourish your soul and body so you can carry on being a superwoman.
1 cup ground activated almonds
1 tbsp chia seeds
sprinkle wheatgrass powder
sprinkle spirulina powder
2 drops doTERRA peppermint essential oil
1/2 cup homemade date syrup (optional: add a splash of maple syrup or raw honey for extra sweetness )
15 pitted dates blended with 1/4 cup water.
Blend dates with water to create a thick paste.
Mix all the ingredients together, let the dough rest for 20 min. Form golf ball sized balls. Roll in coconut or jumbo oats.
You can replace the green superfood powders with raw cacao powder. Cacao is naturally rich in caffeine so this will give you a much-needed kick.
