Super Healthy Strawberry Chia Jam Recipe...
2 cups organic strawberries
¼ cup maple syrup or if you really want to have the best type of sugar use stevia drops
2 Tbsp Chia Seeds or chia bia powder
water as needed
Chop the strawberries. Place strawberries, chia seeds and maple syrup or stevia into a blender or food processor. Blend until it is jam consistency. Add the water ( 1 Tbsp )
Pour contents of blender into a small saucepan and heat over medium heat until the jam begins to bubble. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the jam starts to thicken.
Remove from heat and immediately pour into a mason jar. Allow to cool completely and then store in the fridge for up to one week.
This recipe works with other berry types too. Berries are full of antioxidants and they protect skin by limiting the production of free radicals, which can damage skin cells. Antioxidants in skin care products can do a lot for the health and appearance of your skin, including reducing the signs of aging. Eat them but also apply them to the skin.
