How To Make A Cold Compress To Reduce Inflammation From Acne and Cystic Acne...

Treating cystic acne with doTERRA essential oils and cold compress

Cystic acne is one of the most painful experiences you can have on your skin, especially if it covers sensitive areas or if there is more than one present. You get cystic acne when a pore in your skin gets clogged, usually with dead skin cells. Sometimes bacteria get trapped inside the pore, too, causing the area to become red and swollen. Cystic acne happens when this infection goes deep into your skin, creating a red, tender bump that's full of pus. One of the best and most useful things you can do is to cover the acne with a super clean cold compress with melaleuca and lavender essential oils.

To make a cold compress, take about a liter of cold water, and add about 4 drops of Melaleuca and 4 drops lavender doTERRA essential oils to it. Then place your folded piece of material, bandage or small towel, on top of the water and let it soak it up. Next, wring out the excess water and place it over the area to be treated. You can also do this with the cotton wool if you are treating a single spot. Cold compresses are also used for recent sprains, bruising, swelling and inflammation, fever and headaches.
